Antony Gormley, the artist who added the Angel of the North to Newcastle's skyline, transformed Crosby Beach with his Iron Men statues. Visitors from far and wide head to Crosby to take in the spectacle of a hundred figures staring out to sea in the 'Another Place' installation. If you fancy a trip seven miles up the coast to Crosby, be sure to check the Mersey tidal times, because at high tide all of the statues are submerged... and you might want to wear shoes that you don't mind getting muddy.
